In addition to the main Manukau campus there are specialised campuses located throughout the city including locations at Newmarket, Auckland CBD, Highbrook Business Park, Pukekohe and Manukau CBD as well as community learning centres within the greater Auckland region.[4]

In 2013 a teacher at the institute's School of Creative Writing, Eleanor Catton, won the Man Booker Prize for her novel The Luminaries.[7]
