Deloitte Football Money League
It is disappointing that you persist in reverting multiple Wikipedian’s edits of this page on this particular matter. Namely, that Swansea City A.F.C. is a football team that is located in the city of Abertawe, which is in Wales, and NOT in England.

I think that the source of your confusion on this subject may be due to the fact that Swansea City play in the English Premier League. Whilst it may seem strange, and it is indeed an unusual - perhaps even unique - situation for a club from a particular country to compete within a league that is located within a different country, this does not, however, mean that Swansea City is an English team!

If you look at the table on the Deloitte Football Money League, the headings are clear and unambiguous, in that they state: ‘Rank in 2013-14’, ‘Club’, ‘Revenue’ and ‘Country’. The headings do NOT state: ‘Rank in 2013-14’, ‘Club’, ‘Revenue’ and ‘Country within which the league within which the club plays is located’. As it happens, the ‘Country within which the league within which the club plays is located’ for all of the other teams on this page happens to be the same as the country in which the corresponding club is based, therefore there is no problem! However, in the case of Swansea City, under the title ‘Country’, only ‘Wales’ can be considered to be correct.

I have read the document that you have referred to on the Talk:Deloitte Football Money League page. Please note that the reference that you mention on page 9 in fact lists the ‘2012/13 Money League clubs by country’, and that Swansea City only featured in 2013/14, hence why Wales does not appear on the map.
I will re-instate my edit, and I hope that the points above explain clearly enough why Swansea City should be listed under the country ‘Wales’, and not ‘England’. I would be grateful if you would refrain from changing this again. However, if you do feel the need to list Swansea City as an English team, then I would ask that you justify this opinion fully and firstly consult the opinion of independent moderators before doing so. Thank you.Haul~cywiki (talk) 23:36, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

Revision as of 23:37, 20 January 2016

I now explain my actions in this footballer's article: I think we should leave the sub-sections (other than INTERNACIONAL and BENFICA) out, because it gets kind of confusing if he returns to Benfica. Also, it was "extra confusing" because we had a section called BESIKTAS and another called BENFICA B AND LOANS, when Besiktas was also a loan.

Or maybe you can offer another suggestion for the display? Attentively --84.90.219.128 (talk) 19:17, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

 • Sorry for the late reply, only "logged in" (for lack of a better word) now. Yes, I saw at WP:FOOTY in November or December that the captaincy templates were to be removed, if I'm not getting things mixed. If you are not 100% "satisfied" with my reply, maybe we ask again at WP:FOOTY? --84.90.219.128 (talk) 19:35, 16 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Done! --84.90.219.128 (talk) 05:22, 17 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Salernobr: That reference was removed because it's from a Wikipedia mirror, therefore it's not reliable. SLBedit (talk) 17:17, 17 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
