Template:Linkless-date Anarkalli Aakarssha (Born in 1987) is a former Miss Sri Lanka 2004 and now turned actress. She was born and raised in the capital Colombo.

Background

Her father was Jayantha Jayatilaka, a director of the Film Location Services and her mother, Indrani, is a fashion designer for Hollywood films made in Sri Lanka.

Career

Her first opportunity of acting came when her mother put her to school at the age of three to Playgroup at the Colombo International School (CIS). At the age of eight she got her first role in the teledrama "Iti Pahan" playing Daisy Susan. Besides acting, Anarkalli is also working as the Public Relations Officer to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mangala Samaraweera. She was the youngest actress in the history of Sinhalese Cinema to the Most Popular Actress Award. Her first film was the comedy "Pissu Triple". it wasn't until this film that she was starting to take her acting career serously.
