Example on Argument from Authority
Hey, there's currently talk of re-adding your example on the argument from authority page. Your input would be helpful! FL or Atlanta (talk) 00:48, 25 March 2016 (UTC)

Revision as of 00:48, 25 March 2016

How do I see what the reasons are for a removal? I thought I was just not doing it right and tried a few times. How can I see the reasons? It wasn't BLP info, and was referring to common knowledge, or public practice. Just trying to figure out how to do it right.

If you click on the "history" tab, that will show you the edits that have been made. A good editor should include an "edit summary" when doing edits (but this is not required, and often not done). You may see something like:
 • (cur) (prev) 20:37, April 15, 2009 Ched Davis (talk | contribs) (9,314 bytes) (→Coining a New Term: removed unreferenced material - please don't add rumor to articles. see WP:BLP) (undo)

but sometimes you'll only see:

 • (cur) (prev) 20:37, April 15, 2009 Ched Davis (talk | contribs) (9,314 bytes) (undo)

if the editor didn't fill in the box at the bottom. I noticed that you are already using the edit summary box - that is a very good start!

I'm sorry you're first couple edits didn't work out quite the way you planned, but you are doing good work. Please don't be discouraged if some edits are changed, or removed at first. Even the very most experienced editors have their edits re-worded and reverted at times. It's a large community, and we all work together to achieve a (hopefully) top quality article by the end of the day. You're doing fine, and off to a great start, I hope you enjoy your editing here, and continue to help us build our encyclopedia. — Ched :  ?  03:21, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
