In 1950 Machett Laboratories contracted with the Industrial Mobilization Division of the Signal Corp Supply Agency to provide the high power high voltage rectifier tubes used in the Hydrogen Thyratron Test sets. Voltages as high as 30,000 were involved.
This was a hghly important National Defense program which carried the "Brickbat" priority designation. Progress was reported to President Truman every Monday morning. This program cleared the bottle neck in the supply the High Power Hydrogen thyratrons
used in the GE DEW line RADARS.
