==History==
The monster itself was just a mysterious monster in volumes of several books throughout Tibia, but it did not become a reality until the monster's hitpoints, loot and other items were copied from a Tibia-spinoff called The Dark Age. The monster on TDA was titled "The Gatekeeper" and was introduced in late 2004 on one of the worlds named Sonia. Many of the items that the Gatekeeper dropped, are also dropped by Orshabaal. CIPsoft has been running out of ideas as of late, so they scan the newest and hottest OT servers for inspiration towards their next update.

In a test server of the Tibia (MMORPG) Summer 2005 update, Orshabaal , the most powerful monster yet to have walked the lands of tibia was first sighted. Mightier than Ferumbras himself, Orshabaal is now thought to be responsible for the deaths of well over a thousand players. He is thought to serve his masters the ever-feared 'Ruthless Seven'. This so called lord of demons has been slain on only a handful of occasions, and thanks mainly to the collaboration and cooperation of the strongest of players. He spawns on the island of Edron.

Naming

The word Baal is a Semitic title, often used to give reference to various gods or goddesses or to another figure holding particular reverence or esteemed admiration. Particularly within ancient religions, it is used to denote the standing of lordship or holiness. It should however be noted that the words alone have no significant religious connotation. To pick a particularly appropriate example; in the Bible, Baal is also known as Beelzebub, or Baalzebub - one of this fallen angels of Satan. In stark contrast, and regardless of this creature's ingame imfamy, he is referred to by a large portion of the Tibian population as 'Orshy,' or similar.

Ingame Details

It has been calculated that Orshabaal has between 20000 and 25000 hitpoints; around 3 times that of a Demon which, boss creatures aside, is considered the most powerful monster in Tibia. Orshabaal may summon these 'demons' to fight by his side and is resistant against all the elements. This creature's immense melee strength aside, attacks include great fireballs, energy waves, 'beserk' and various others.

Although strong, players have found a way to defeat Orshabaal. Alternative characters lure him to the river, where a knight waits to block him. Druids heal the blocker, and Orshabaal is shot with multiple sudden death runes. With a combination of luck and strength he can be brought down.

He is known to drop extremely rare loot, ranging from golden legs, to the very rare teddy bear, and even the thunder hammer, a legendary item in Tibia. He also drops smaller simpler items, including gems, devil helmets, and many gold coins.
