The word "cenobitic" is an adjective, and as such is inappropriate for the title of an encyclopedic article. I would suggest changing the [[namespace]] for this article either to '''Cenobium''' (which is the noun form of the word) or '''Cenobitic Monasticism'''. Based on the tone of the article, I would think the latter to be more appropriate. Any input? [[User:MishaPan|MishaPan]] 14:05, 20 August 2007 (UTC) |

I'd like some help in thinking about and adding a section on early Jewish monasticism. The Thereputae as described by Philo of Alexandria seem to fit very well into this category. |

Duplicates material at Monastery. There is also Monasticism, which duplicates efforts. --Wetman 18:57, 21 Mar 2005 (UTC)
This needs reorganization. -Slash- 06:46, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
A bit repetitive, don't you think?
I don't find it a problem that the article might duplicate some of the text in monastisicm article, but the article in and of itself seems to rehash the same points a few times (particularly the dispute about the origins of cenobitic monasticism). -- Cimon Avaro; on a pogostick. 08:15, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Thereputae
I'd like some help in thinking about and adding a section on early Jewish monasticism. The Thereputae as described by Philo of Alexandria seem to fit very well into this category.
