She currently serves as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Asit C. Sanjay Ghodawat (Gujarati: દીના મહેતા) born on February 18, 1961 is an Indian businesswoman and founder chairman of Sanjay Ghodawat Group of Industries. She currently serves as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Asit C. Mehta Investment Interrmediates Ltd.[2] Deena Mehta was one of the first few woman members of Bombay Stock Exchange, Mumbai and eventually went on to become its first woman president.

Early life & education[edit source] Deena Mehta completed her schooling from Mary Immaculate Girls' High School in Mumbai. Deena Mehta is a commerce graduate and a chartered accountant. She has completed a Post Graduate degree in Management Studies (Finance) from the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies She has also completed a Diploma in Stock Exchange studies from BSE Training Institute and a Post Graduate Diploma in Securities Law conducted by Government Law College, Mumbai

Career[edit source] Deena Mehta, with her husband Asit Mehta set up Mumbai-based brokerage firm Nucleus Securities in 1986. This firm eventually became the Nucleus Group of Companies. Asit C. Mehta Investment Interrmediates Limited is a part of this Nucleus Group of Companies.[3]

Deena Mehta was the first woman director on the board of the Bombay Stock Exchange. She was Vice-President for two years and was elected as the President of the Bombay Stock Exchange in 2001.[4] Her tenure with the Bombay Stock Exchange lasted a total of 6 years from April 1996 to March 2002.[5]

Deena Mehta has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the following organizations:

Cotton Association of India[6] Board of Central Depository Services (India) Limited [7] National Payment Corporation of India since August 2011 [8] She is also a visiting faculty on stock markets at IIM Ahmedabad[9]

Awards and achievements[edit source] First Woman president of Bombay stock Exchange in the 125 years of the exchange's existence[10] Awarded for outstanding contribution in the field of Banking and Financial services by Ladies Wing, Indian Merchant Chamber Honored by Cosmos Bank for outstanding contribution in the field of Finance in December, 2005 Awarded as outstanding Young Indian in Business Category by Indian Jaycees in 1998[11] Personal life[edit source] Deena Mehta is married to Asit Mehta since 1984 and has two sons, Aditya (30) and Aakash (23). [12] She actively supports investor education and awareness initiatives.
