The Saleebaan ( Somali: Saleebaan) is a Somali clan that is part of the Habar Gedir of the Hawiye clan and it is arguably the largest clan among H/Gidir, they are mostly nomadic and live from the coast ( Hobyo and harardhere ) to the Ethopian towns of Dacdheer and Galadi, on the other side they range from Dhusamareeb to Galinsoor.

This clan inhabits 1/2 of of the Mudug(Hobyo, Harardhere, part of Galkacyo area) region of Somalia, 1/2 of Galgaduud(Adado, Godinlabe, Baxdo, Galinsoor) region of Somalia, and parts ofi Ethiopia, This large clan can also can be found settled in the Somali capital Mogadishu, as well as Lower Shabelle and Middle Juba( Faarah Rooble sub clan ).

The Saleebaan clan is known to have always started and led all resistances: The armed wing of SYL was led by Dhagatuur, The USC armed wing was led by Saleebaan forces in Ethiopia ( commander Sigane Forces ) and Chairman of USC Hussen Ali Shido, The Islamic Courts was started by Shiirkoole the Saleebaan Court and they are now second in Command (Sh Abdulqadir Ali Omar). This clan is also known not to look for a higher political positions and fighters.
