Cecilia Seghizzi ( Gorizia , 5 September 1908 ) is a composer , painter and teacher Italian .

Biography

Daughter of the composer and choirmaster Cesare Augusto Seghizzi ( 1873 - 1933 ), one of the most popular computers of popular song from Friuli, was born on September 5, 1908. After being exiled to the Refugee Camp of Wagna in Austria during the First World War [1 ] , She began to studying the violin with Alfredo Lucarini and graduated with honors from the Conservatory "G. Verdi" in Milan . In the thirties he alternated concerts with teaching in middle school and music school. She began in the meantime to devote herself to composition , completing her studies with a diploma from the conservatory "Tartini" in Trieste under the guidance of Vito Levi. In the fifties she founded and managed the complex Gorizia polyphonic , with which she won first prize at the national competition polyphonic Brescia . The recognition followed a series of concerts and recordings for major venues both at home and abroad. Se now lives in Gorizia, Friuli-Venezia Gulia.

Style

The catalog author goriziana includes more than 130 compositions, among which those dedicated to chorus . It is in choral music that appears her greater taste for daring sonorities and driving rhythms, humorous and light swings, a similar approach, to some extent, to Alfredo Casella, Paul Hindemith, and Giulio Viozzi . Her style, very conservative, in the most advanced moments is linked to neo-classicism , and there is no trace of the innovations introduced by the musical avant-garde since the 1930's.

Among her works;

Sonata for Oboe and Piano (1963)

By night flute , soprano and piano (1979)

Concertino for horn and strings (1981)
