Mordecai is an American synth pop band from Portland, OR. The band released their debut full-length album on Indipendead Records; It's Never Enough (released on August 30, 2017). The band consists of Andrew Endres (lead vocals, bass, additional synthesisers, samplers), Kate Kilbourne (synthesisers, violin, vocals) and Corey Foster (drums, samplers).

History

Mordecai formed in 2014, though previous incarnations of the band had taken shape under different aliases. In 2015 Endres' joined with Violinist Kate Kilbourne to develop the group into the soon-to-be synth, violin, and drum trio that was about to take form. The duo began to play shows along the west coast in Bellingham, Seattle, and Portland and began to gain recognition in local scenes. The band cycled through several drummers before coming to Corey Foster who has remained with the band until present. In late 2016 the band embarked on a West Coast/Southwest tour of the United States and Mexico from Seattle, WA to Tijuana, MX to Salt Lake City, UT. At the end of the tour all of the bands belongings were stolen after their tour vehicle was broken into. After a shift in gear and instrumental arrangement, due to the theft, the band had to start from scratch to create their new album in early 2017. The album "It's Never Enough" was mixed and mastered by Jeff Bond of Patternist, AAN, and several other noteworthy Portland bands. The album was released on August, 30, 2017. [1] The album came highly acclaimed by critics, with reviews from Telegram,[2] Lemonwire,[3] WorldNews,[4] Vortex Magazine,[5] , High Note,[6] and other outlets.
