Donato Bottone (born 21 June 1988) is an Italian footballer who plays for Rivoli.

Biography

Born in Polla, Campania, Bottone started his career at Piedmontese club Villaggio Lamarmora and Biellese. On 22 August 2002 Bottone was signed by Juventus. He played for Juve youth system from under-15 team, U16, U17, U18 to the reserve team - Primavera. Bottone also signed a 4-year contract in summer 2007.[2] On 6 August 2008 Bottone and Nicola Cosentini were left for Pro Patria.[3] Bottone was signed by Pro Sesto in January 2009. The club unable to loan Bottone to lower divisions in summer 2009. Bottone became a member of the under-18 team as overage player in 2009–10 season.[4] On 31 August 2010 Bottone was signed by French Ligue 2 club Clermont Foot on free transfer. He signed a 1-year contract.[5][6] Bottone was injured and missed the whole 2011–12 season.[7] Bottone obtained the license as youth team coach on 30 June 2012.[8]

On 15 November 2012 Bottone was signed by Hungarian club Budapest Honvéd FC.[9] Bottone played once for the second team on 17 November.[10] On 10 December 2012 he was released.[11] He was on trial for Santhià,[12] Bra[13] and Cuneo in 2013–14 season. In September 2014 he was eventually signed by Santhià. In the following season he scored 19 goals in 33 games. He was signed in the summer of 2015 by Serie D team Borgosesia. He scored 7 goals in the following half-season.

On 4 January 2016 Bottone was signed by Italian club Sondrio Calcio.[14] On 5 January 2016 Bottone changed his mind because his girlfriend, who was pregnant, didn't like the city and the Sondrio Calcio infrastructure.[15]

Later he was purchased by fifth-tier team Biellese. He scored his first goal for the team on 14 February 2016 in a 2–1 loss against Charvensod.[16] He went on to score seven goals in the whole half-season.[17] In June 2016, he was signed by Serie D team Potenza.

In 2017 he played for several Italian teams that competed in Eccellenza, in the fifth tier of Italian association football. Now he is in the squad of Rivoli. On December 10 2017 he scored his first goal for his club against Benarzole.[18] He scored again on 13 January 2018 in a 1–0 win against Asca.[19]
