Olga Poliektova (born 1985) is a Russian animator, illustrator and film director, mostly working together with her twin sister Tatiana Poliektova and best known for short animation film My Grandfather Was a Cherry Tree.

Career

Olga graduated from St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television in 2008. Olga (together with Tatiana) created several short animation films including Tomato story, Inspiration, Noise, I see you, Quagga, Warm Liguria and My Grandfather Was a Cherry Tree.

In 2014 Olga and Tatiana were on the jury of the Lucania Film Festival.

Their short animation film My Grandfather Was a Cherry Tree won the Animated Short 2nd Place Award at the Giffoni Film Festival (2015) [1] and the Best Animated Short Jury Award at the New York International Children's Film Festival (2016),​ together with 33 other awards, and was included into the long list for 2017 Oscars nomination [2].
