I'm not accustomed to experiencing such things on Debian Linux/Firefox/AdblockPlus/NoScript. You have adware on your browser
Assuming you are viewing articles on en.wikipedia.org and not some mirror site, you have adware in your browser. Wikipedia does not put pop-up ads in its links, so the problem is on your end. Just because the adware got its image from the Mediawiki servers means nothing, that would be a good way for scammers to try and make their adware appear legitimate.
You need to run your security software. If you do not have security software, I can recommend some for you.
