Ronald J. Shurer is a former US Army special forces Staff Sergeant and medic who will be awarded the Medal of Honor on 1 Oct 2018 for actions in April 2008, in Afghanistan's Skok Valley when as a senior medical sergeant, he and his team of were attacked by an enemy force of more than 200 fighters.
