Album of Honour for Brant County.
Mission
The Album of Honour for Brant County was compiled in 1946 by the Brantford Kinsmen Club to commemorate those of Brantford, the County of Brant and the peoples of the Six Nations who served Canada during the Second World War. From 1939 until 1945, over 6000 men and women of Brant County joined the armed forces. Over 300 never returned.
It is hoped that this Virtual War Memorial will serve to keep alive the memory of their glorious deeds. To view the photos and biographies of these brave men who made the ultimate sacrifice you can either browse alphabetically by last name or do a search using last name and/or first name.
Please note that after the Second World War not all casualties of Brantford, the County of Brant and the peoples of Six Nations casualties were entered into The Album of Honour.
Location
The section of the Album of Honor that provides the names of the Brant County men and women who served in World War II is on the Digital Archives Page at the Brantford Public Library.
Artifacts
This book provides the names of the Brant County men and women who served in World War II, except for the casualty list (see the Virtual War Memorial). There are more than 3,500 photographs of these people submitted by family members; however, for many others only the names are listed. In addition, local companies provided the names of employees who served in this war.
