Early life
She is a South African actress born on the 7 November 1978. She hails from the province of North West having stayed her childhood throughout in places like Mafikeng, Ga-Rankuwa, Mabopane, and Potchefstroom.
Career
Katlego was performing in theatre before getting into television. She obtained her BA in Theatre and Performance at University of Cape Town in 2001 and is renowned for stage performances in theatre productions such as Beyond the Veil, The House of Kalumba, The Town that was Mad, Crimes of the Heart, King Lear, Miss Tertiary Feel, Occupational Therapy Project, and the Opera performance of Macbeth . In 2002 she landed a role of Keketso on etv's youth soapie Backstage, played the role for 4 years. She joined Genarations in 2006.She was the face of Ponds in 2007. She has also appeared in commercials for Vanish, Clover, Klipdfirt brandy, and Honda.
Career: Early 2010
She received the best actress at 2010 South African Film and TV Awards for her character as 'Dineo Mashaba' on Generations. She completed Diploma in Management Studies in 2010, with Wits Business School. In 2015, she landed the lucrative contract of brand ambassador to the international baby products brand Philips Avent.
Endorsements
She was given motivational talks on the youth on behalf of organizations such as Sonke Gender Justice Network, The National Department of Health, the ANC Women's league, and World Bank.
Television
Between 2002 and 2006, she appeared on the South African series Backstage. Also in 2002, she appeared in the film Eine Liebe in Afrika as Sophia, on SABC2’s Afrikaans soapie 7de Laan, Isidingo as Kgothalo, and on Generations as Dineo Mashaba.
Awards
She received the best actress award at the 2010 [African Film and TV Awards] (SATFA ).In both 2006 and 2011, she was voted as one of FHM's 100 sexiest women in the world. In 2010 she was nominated for a YOU spectacular award for Favourite Actress. She was nominated Best Screen Villain in the Duku-Duku 2004 Awards, and Best Dressed Actress in 2009 at the South African Film and TV Awards.
