Term still in use?

That 'coenocyte' is a term still in regular use is doubtful. Whereas, by contrast, syncytium is a term widely used. Dictionary of Genetics (King et al, p435) discusses syncytium, with no entry for coenocyte. If no or few modern uses of coenocyte can be found, then the page should reflect that. I only have sight of the abstracts, but they are not super-convincing. Macdonald-ross (talk) 18:43, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
