Deep Groove Mono Monk discography page

this page might be a good resource for completing details about Monk's discography, including artwork and release dates, currently we are missing info about the early Prestige 10" LPs in particular J Edward Malone (talk) 23:10, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Prestige 10" lp's reissued

Monk's five 10" lp's for Prestige were reissued in facsimile format last December, by Craft Recordings, in a box set, similar to the Miles Davis box sets from a few years back. These five original 10" lp's really should be documented in our discography. This was how the Prestige material was originally released. The 12" lp's currently listed were all compilations reformatting the same material after 1955, when the 10" format was discontinued. These albums are all listed in discogs, jazzdisco, and other websites, but the information is missing here.

Amen, J Edward Malone. I have attempted to correct this and my edits were reversed. I've tried again. Let's see if it will take. I would love to find photos of these EPs that Wikipedia will accept. They don't consider "Discogs" to be legit, but in fact it has some of the only scans of these historically important but very rare albums.Sojambi Pinola (tai lk) 03:53, 29 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

J Edward Malone, I have now created pages for those five albums. Apparently someone has taken it upon himself to rate these albums as "non-notable." good gawd, Sojambi!!!, thank you so much. Just by coincidence I looked up Monk's discography tonight and was pleasantly surprised to see someone had finally edited in the correct information. This is indeed something I started to do a few years ago but gave up on because I couldn't waste time arguing online when there was real life to worry about. I may comment on details another day when I get a chance, but I am very glad to see wikipedia now accurately documents Monk's Prestige releases.
