== Flower Jutsu ==

Just as a question, but where are the Flower jutsu used around episode 190?

regular vs. compact table of contents

I'm wondering what other people think about replacing the default TOC on the alphabetical ninjutsu pages with Template:compactTOC (which looks like this -

). The main advantage is that it'd make for less scrolling to get past the TOC, and the main disadvantage is lack of linking to a particular jutsu if the reader knows what he's looking for. (A minor aesthetical drawback is that the letters extend past the page's range.) If there aren't any objections within the next few days I'll insert the compactTOC. --Pentasyllabic 17:23, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds like a decent idea. If you wish, you could copy my restructed version on Ninjutsu (Naruto). I modified it to exclude nonexistent letters. That reminds me, I meant to do a centralized discussion thing for these pages. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 19:41, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

chidori

is the flapping chidori stronger than kakashi's lightning blade?

It sure is. ^^ ReaperWarrior

please excuse my ignorance but could it beat ōdama rasengan?

One, it isn't stronger that Kakashi's Lightning Blade. Two, it sure as hell can' beat the Odama Rasengan. Three, not a forum. Techniques are only as powerful as the one using them. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 14:31, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Umm...Someguy,perhaps u know me already, but if u don't,go to the kekkei genkai discussion page. Anyway,r u sure dat the flapping chidori can defeat da Odama Rasengan? They're both S-ranked. Zachary crimsonwolf 13:06, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fire Release: Toad Oil Flame Bullet

Can Naruto really use this jutsu. I dont recall him ever using it and its not even on his list of jutsu's that he can do on his page. I think he should be taken off the users list unless anyone has any objections.BLaCk 23:50, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He does it in one of the filler arcs. Nemu 23:57, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Really? wow. ok then guess i got some catching up to do with those Ooh so great fillers, do happen to know the episode when he did it.?.BLaCk 00:15, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sea County arc. Check the arc listings for the episode set. Should be one of the last two. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 00:39, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rasengan

I think that there should be a separate article about Rasengan, having in mind that it became, somehow, a central jutsu in Naruto for now. 81.18.52.142 20:47, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is annoying.

Can someone change this back to its normal form without the letter separation.

That's not a very specific request. Are you saying you dislike having all the jutsu that start with A put under A? I don't see a particular problem with the categorization. Or maybe you're referring to the fact that all ninjutsu are spread across four different articles? If that's the case, then there's not much that can be done about it. The list was split due to the fact that when they were all on the same page, the page was excessively long and excessively large, making it difficult to manage. So to return it to its former state would just recreate the problem. Or maybe you're referring to something else entirely? ~SnapperTo 03:29, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Death Foreseeing Technique

Isn't the Death Foreseeing Technique Orochimaru used a genjutsu? I'm pretty sure it's not in the databook but it displays all signs of what we know of Genjutsu, most important i believe (at least in the anime, Have to check the manga) Sasuke only escaped by causing himself pain?

I'd be willing to explore/explain why I think jutsu is a genjutsu instead of a ninjutsu technique if someone is willing.

I'm pretty sure that it was the same in the manga; he had to stab himself to snap himself out of his shocked state. But if you notice, it wasn't really a permanent illusion. He didn't keep seeing it afterward; it was just a brief vision. The shocked state afterward was a result of what they saw, not because they were in a genjutsu. So, it seems more like ninjutsu. I'm not saying that there's no possibility of it being a genjutsu; in fact, it might be. I just think that it's more of a ninjutsu technique. Raven23 14:52, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Clone Technique

Given that the Clone Technique is purely an illusion, wouldn't that make it a genjutsu technique? Ninjutsu techqniques are supposed to be ones that have an actual physical effect rather than just fooling the senses of the target. 71.203.209.0 02:01, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Genjutsu affects a person or a group of people by showing them something that isn't there. The clone technique creates clone that have no physical substance. The clones are still real, they just don't have substance. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 02:19, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jutsu Pictures

Ok... I noticed that you removed some of the pictures. Some, I can understand why, but others... not so much.

-Blade of Wind is almost impossible to get a proper picture of. Any other picture would just... be wind... and that's not very helpful. At least the slash hitting Hayate looked like a slash from a blade, in a way.

-Body Flicker Jutsu is another one that's hard to get a picture of... I kinda agree that the one I put up was bad, but really, it's hard to get something better.

-Dead Soul Jutsu. Another one that is really hard to get a picture of in effect otherwise. If you suggest how I could get a better picture, I'll rip it from a DVD.

-Decapitating Air Waves... I didn't really see what was wrong with that one. Or was that not the actual jutsu and more a simple display of Zaku's air tubes?

I was trying to make sure that every jutsu had a picture. I'll try to get better ones for the ones which I can get better ones of... but... meet me half-way, at least. It's better than nothing, at least in the case of something like Blade of Wind.

Sometimes nothing is better. not all jutsu have a clear picture and some don't need it. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 19:33, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, maybe so with Body Flicker and Dead Soul, but I still feel there was nothing wrong with the Air Waves and Blade of Wind jutsu. Care to explain? Yami Wheeler 19:46, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Blade of Wind only happens once from a poor angle. Maybe if Baki displays it again it'll be helpful, but an invisble blade doesn't need a picture. Similarly, teleporting doesn't require a picture. A guy disappears then reappears in a flash. No need to show that visually. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 19:49, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agreed with you that Body Flicker Jutsu's picture wasn't necessary... But in my defence, I was trying to show the masking effect in between the teleportation. Anyway, it's the Decapitating Air Waves jutsu that I feel has a point. As for Blade of Wind, fine, I'll drop that. Yami Wheeler 19:53, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Body Flicker could really only be properly displayed as an animated gif, though I don't know how necessary it would be. As for the Air Waves, the picture was rather uneventful; if you were to upload a picture of Zaku making more use out of the holes in his hands, I wouldn't have a problem with it. ~SnapperTo 19:54, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Alright then. I'll remember that the next time, then. Yami Wheeler 19:57, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Like that one scene where he's trying to blow the Choji-ball away. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 19:57, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Got it. When I get more pictures later/tomorrow, I'll be sure to get that one. Thank you. Yami Wheeler 20:02, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just a question, but who is Kenny Bohner? Why is Amaterasu gone weird? WHY HAS SOMEONE SCREWED UP HALF THE DEFINITIONS? Seriously, check every edit by the IP address 208.111.201.242, and you'll see that they're all weird!

reverted to before he edited. The damage is undone. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 19:54, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Body Flicker and teleportation

Several times in the show, in the anime at least, a ninja will form a hand sign and then disappear in a puff of smoke. I know the 4th hokage developed a long-range form of teleportion, but is there a short-range one or am I just getting this confused with another technique. Examples of this are during the Chunin finals when a ninja seemingly teleports to pass a message from the 3rd Hokage to the examiner for the first time, when Baki and Kabuto disappear after the failed invasion of Hidden leave, and after the battle between the three Sanin. Is this the same as the Body Flicker or another technique? I'm wondering because it seems that if its the same it needs to be mentioned and if not then the technique needs to be mentioned. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 150.208.201.176 (talk) 02:34, 10 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Most ninja use the "short-ranged" Body Flicker Technique, while the Fourth used the "long-ranged" Flying Thunder God Technique. They serve similar purposes, but they aren't one and the same. ~SnapperTo 03:20, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The smoke-screen is just for distraction purposes. It's still the Body Flicker. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 03:24, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please. Spare me the lecture. The Shunshin no Jutsu is not a teleportation technique. Now Son Goku's Instant Transmission is, but that's DBZ. --Power level (Dragon Ball) 03:38, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
