Reception
Perspective has received rave reviews from critics. Porn critics rated the film as the best of 2019 and one of the best of the decade. Mainstream reviews questioned the story line as many last scolding reviews. One reviewer saying "The plot is jumping and hard to follow... ....the acting is surprising good but the confusing story line and jumpy flow takes away from that."[5] One IMDb user said "The R version is watchable but suffers from far too many loose ends and implausible plot twists". Another says: "Conforming with industry standards, the softcore sex scenes in the R version run only 1 or 2 minutes long, similar to Pay-Cable soft porn as popular over the past two decades via Cinemax or Showtime. By contrast, the six XXX sequences run 15, 21,19, 25, 33 and 12 minutes long respectively. The longest sex scene involves Angela and a supportive character Lena, played by Abigail Mac, that is entirely omitted from the R version, with the viewer having to infer by jumping to conclusions that the duo have a lesbian relationship. Of course in the full cut that subplot is not left to the imagination." On IMDb four users rated the film a 6.5 out of 10 stars.[6] No other reviews appeared on any other movie review sites.[7]
The film was nominated for over a dozen industry awards winning a handful. The film was nominated for six AVN Awards and won a show best three awards at the 37th AVN Awards show. It also won an award at the XBIZ Awards and was nominated for ten more.[8][9]
