IMSC Edits

Hello,

Apologies I clicked when I reverted your original edit and didn't enter an edit summary. I reverted it as you added claims that nations were founding members, despite references on some of those lines dating them as joining much later, in addition to you adding to the OVERCAT problem on that page. Please note that "military relations" categories are not necessarily always relevant for that article, despite it being a military coalition, and there are cases of child and parent categories both being present in that article.

In an effort to avoid edit warring, I'm not going to revert further than the manual revert I've just done, and if you want to discuss any further changes in regards to that page, I am always happy to do so, just drop me a message on my talk page or on the article talk page.

Happy editing,

Lewis Cawte, It seems you're not checking the article's history. You undid useful edits. I understand your concern about over categorization, but it's not helpful removing for instance Estonia related categories. And for the member states the sources support which states were the founding members. I think the edit I made now won't be OVERCAT.--WikiCleanerMan (talk) 13:13, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've in fact spent a considerable amount of time looking at the article history, thank you. The Estonia categories are not helpful, at very best, they're tangential and non-defining. In fact, this applies to the vast majority of the relations categories used on this article. If categories are are taking up half a 1080p display in read view, its a pretty good indicator that there's a huge OVERCAT issue.
In regards to the references, you added a founding member to Albania, next to the reference that points to this article, stating it is the 7th nation, dated November 2019, two months after the consortium was founded, although the source next to Saudia Arabia which you claimed as a founding member actually indicates the article is wrong and this may be even earlier. --Lewis Cawte (Talk) 13:25, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well, how about now regarding the categories? The interrelations should be kept and I think the military relations categories where provided are better. I think the overcat tag can be removed now. -WikiCleanerMan (talk) 13:33, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
As I said, they're non-defining and therefore over categorization. Had any of the member states caused a notable incident between each other because of their international relations, then it might be considered relevant. --Lewis Cawte (Talk) 13:45, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
A quick search over for instance Iran's tensions with Albania and Estonia would show why the categorization is necessary. These two countries' relations with Iran have worsened over the past year. They wouldn't have joined what is an anti-Iran coalition for the hell of it. --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 13:57, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
