Early Life and Career

Aquino was born in Calbayog, Samar. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at Saint Mary’s College of Catbalogan and became a Certified Public Accountant before entering politics in 2001.

He served as the vice mayor of the city from 2007 until 2011. Upon the assassination of late mayor Reynaldo Uy,[5][6] he took the position and sworn in as the mayor of the city from 2011 until his ‘senseless murder’[7][8][9] on March 08, 2021.[10][11][12]

Death

On 2011, his predecessor, the late mayor Reynaldo Uy[13] was killed by a sniper during a formal program at Hinabangan town when during that time, Aquino was the vice-mayor.[14][15] On March 08, 2021, Aquino, including the 5 others,[16] was also killed during shoot-out with police in 'mistaken encounter' as authorities claimed.[17][18][19][20]
