The big red flags for me, both present in their first edit at RSN (diff are:

focus on Guy Macon
focus on the Daily Mail
their edit starting with "I have been informed"—if the behavioral evidence didn't suggest socking, I'd have suggested this might be meat-puppetry.

It should be noted that another recent account Mr Happy Shoes (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) has recently been blocked as a sockpuppet of Brian K Horton/Crows Nest by CaptainEek after a long period of inactivity, with a similar focus on British tabloids, probably worth checking the IP of that account also.
