Alhaj Shafiqul Islam Shimul is a Member of the Bangladesh National Parliament [1] affiliated with -Bangladesh Awami League 59 [2] for Natore Sadar & Naldangga. He is a member, Standing Committee On The Ministry Of Railways, [3]

Career

Alhaj Shafiqul Islam Shimul as born on July 3, 1976) in Kandivita mahalla of Natore district to a Muslim aristocratic family. His father Hasan Ali Sardar was a contractor in the Natore distric and a successful leather merchant. His mother, Saleha Begum, was a housewife. Shafiqul Islam Shimul was the 7th of eight brothers and sisters. He holds an LLB degree.

1992, he became a member of Natore NS Government College Chhatra League. In 1994, he was elected sports secretary in the committee of Natore District Chhatra League. In 2001, he was elected General Secretary of the Natore District Branch of the Bangladesh Awami Juba League and later was elected a "Member" of the Central Committee of the Bangladesh Awami Juba League. [4] In 2013, he became a member of the municipal branch of Bangladesh Awami League, Natore. On 2 December 2014, he was elected General Secretary of the Natore District Branch of the Bangladesh Awami League through direct voting.

Public representative

  • In 2009, Shafiqul Islam Shimul defeated the BNP Jamaat candidate by a margin of 41,000+ votes and was elected chairman of Natore Sadar Upazila Parishad.
  • On January 5, 2014, He won the election of the 10th National Parliament as the nominated candidate of the Bangladesh Awami League.
  • On 30 December 2018, As a Candidate of Bangladesh Awami League, He defeated the BNP candidate for the second time in the Eleventh Parliamentary Election and was elected as a Member of Parliament by a huge margin of votes.
