Kate Martin (jurist)
Kate Martin is the name that Tad Martin and Dixie Cooney use to refer to their daughter, which Dixie gave up for adoption as an infant. Her name came from Tad's adoptive grandmother Kate Martin. It has not yet been revealed on-air where she ended up or what her real name is. Both Tad and Dixie are hoping that their daughter is still alive. She was adopted by Jim and Linda Mershon, who named her Kathy. They were both killed in a car accident on Christmas Eve 2006. She currently lives with her aunt, Julia Santos. Sadly it is unlikely Dixie will ever know Kate is hers, as Dixie is to be killed off in January 2007, during a serial killer storyline.
