Anvar Juraboev ( Uzbek: Жўрабоев, Russian: Джурабаев; Anwar Djurabaev; Jurabayev) (Born on May 22, 1948) is a well known Uzbek journalist and a politician.
He was born on May 22, 1948 in Bulungurski district of Samarkand region in Uzbekistan. After graduating from the secondary school, he studied at the philological faculty of the Moscow Pedagogical University 1966-1971. He has been working in journalism since 1971 as a corrector, correspondent, the chief of information department for Samarkand region newspaper "Zarafshon" (1971-1974) Correspondent for newspaper "Na straje Rodini" (Leningrad region. 1974-1975) The chief of letters, building and transport for Jizzakh region paper "Djizah haqiqati" ("Djizahskaya pravda" 1975-1981) Executive secretary for the republic journal "Sovet Uzbekistoni sanati" ("Iskusstvo sovetskogo Uzbekistana" (now "Guliston" 1981-1990) Deputy editor-in-chief for the parliamentary newspaper of Uzbekistan "Halq suzi" ("Narodnoe slovo" 1990-1991) Consultant in the apparatus of Oliy Kengash (the Parliament) of the country (1991-1992) Deputy of General Manager in Uzbek National information Agency (February-March 1992) In 1992-1997 years worked as a general editor of parliament - government newspaper "Khalq suzi" and "Narodnoye slovo" ("The word of people") Since February 1998 Anvar Jurabaev is an editor-in-chief in international newspaper "Culture of the Central Asia". He is an author of the documentary films "O, Paris!", "An actor and artist Suymenkul Chokmorov", "Trip to Germany", story-book "Taklifnoma" ("Priglasitelni bilet"), essays-"Yashil vagonchadagi chiroq" ("Lampa v zelenom vagonchike"). The great Russian writer, Nobel laureate Mikhail Sholokhov called Anvar Jurabaev a brave journalist. Actually he discusses the most acute problems of current interest in his articles, essays and especially in conversations. Anvar Djurabaev was a member of the republic commission on working out the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan (1992) Was elected a deputy of the first Oliy Majlis of the country (1995-2000) and a member of Oliy Kengash in Oliy Majlis (Supreme Assembly of Uzbekistan). One of the founders of the social-democratic party of Uzbekistan "Adolat" (Justice Social Democratic Party) February 1995 He was elected the first secretary of the Political council of the mentioned party and also the chairman of its fraction in the parliament (the fraction contained 48 deputies of Oliy Majlis)
