Bokani Soko, born in Lusaka, is a Zambian business magnet, investor and lawyer. With over a decade of active practice in business, Soko has developed huge interest in local manufacturing to turn Zambia into a hub for consumer needs of the entire Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) region, riding on the country’s geographical location.

Education

In 2000, Soko was admitted into University of Zambia School of Social Sciences where he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Legum Baccalaureus; LL.B) degree in 2004. Upon completion of his LL.B at UNZA, Soko enrolled at the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education (ZIALE) to obtain a prerequisite post-graduate certificate for one to practice law in Zambia. He was subsequently admitted to the bar as an Advocate of the High Court of Zambia on the 30th of June, 2005 after clearing his Legal Practitioners Qualification Examination (LPQE) . He still remains a licensed lawyer affiliated to the Law Association of Zambia

As an Advocate of the High Court, Soko specialized in litigation, business advisory and general counsel and played various roles as advisor to businesses in Zambia and other Southern African countries, during which he represented a number of companies on a wide range of issues that include energy, agriculture, taxation, environment and disputes arising from development agreements with governments. Soko practiced law until 2015 when he made a decision to hang his robe and wig to concentrate on building his business empire.

Business Career

Until 2015, Soko juggled between his law practice and business, a critical period which he used to ultimately make a lifelong decision for his companies. For Soko, his interest in business started while he was a student at UNZA.

Personal life

Soko lives in Zambia’s capital, Lusaka. He is married with two children and strongly believes in the values of family founded on religious principles. He is an avid soccer fanatic whose enthusiasm to develop the sport in Zambia saw him taking control of Elite Lusaka Dynamos Football Club, which he has successfully transformed to become one of the most prestigious clubs in Zambia.
