I will review, comments to follow in the next few days. Zawed (talk) 10:15, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is good, minimal issues picked up here.

  • Lead seems a little short.
    • Expanded to add a bit of information in the lead.
  • Creation: Thompson would be paid US$30,000 for the work...: not sure it is necessary to use the US in US$30,000 here. It isn't used elsewhere in the article.
    • Done.
  • Creation: and it wasn't until July 1885: don't use contractions.
    • Fixed
  • Suggest breaking up both paragraphs in this section in two as they are a little long. Ditto the dedication paragraph.
    • Split the dedication paragraph into two as naturally as I felt I could (Paragraph 1 discussing some slight background and the parade, Paragraph 2 dealing with the ceremony and unveiling itself), but for the Creation section, I tried to divide the paragraphs as naturally as I felt I could into three smaller paragraphs.
  • Like the Israel Putnam images, I think there may need to be a PD tag for the modern images although in the infobox one, the sculpture is not a major part of the image so may not be necessary.
    • Unfortunately I'm not sure what changes you are asking for with this, as I believe the sculpture is old enough that it is in the public domain and images of it can be freely used. Looking at similar images from other GA articles on public monuments from the same time period (such as the infobox image for Equestrian statue of George Henry Thomas, File:West side of the George Henry Thomas statue.JPG), I can't really see any difference in the licensing from that image to this one. I am by no means an expert when it comes to copyright and public domain issues, though, so please let me know what changes I should make if any need to be made.
  • Suggest getting oclc numbers for the pre-ISBN books.
    • Went back and found some ISBN and OCLC data for some of the sources.
  • Location for Quinby source?
    • The location of publication is given in the Quinby book itself. Unfortunately there was not much more information I could find for the metadata on that book, so it does admittedly look a bit odd, but locations are given for it as with other book sources used in the article.

That's the extent of my comments. Zawed (talk) 09:47, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Zawed just wanted to ping you and say that I have made some edits to the page to address some of your comments in this review. I will similarly be making edits to the Israel Putnam Monument soon. Thank you for beginning this review, and if there are any further comments, questions, or concerns, please let me know. -JJonahJackalope (talk) 17:41, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I consider that this article meets the GA criteria so am passing as such. I still think it prudent to add a PD tag for the sculpture in the images, particularly the close up one. That will head off any issues in that respect. Zawed (talk) 08:21, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
