Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo was a Humongous Entertainment Junior Adventure for ages 3 to 8 released in 1995. It was the third adventure released by the company based on the character Putt-Putt, and featured the voice of Jason Ellefson as Putt-Putt.

While originally released for PC and Macintosh, this game is supported by the ScummVM player and may now be played on a larger number of systems. This is in part due to its basis on the scripting language created by Ron Gilbert, who was involved in the development of the game.

Synopsis

Outback Al is preparing for the Grand Opening of the Cartown Zoo, but all of the baby animals are missing from their respective biomes. Putt-Putt and his dog Pep, the characters guided by the player, are recruited while running an errand for Mr. Baldini (who also appears in Putt-Putt Joins the Parade) to hunt for the missing baby animals while Outback Al continues to prepare for the opening.

Features

Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo is a 2D game that features VGA quality cartoon like graphics and a point-and-click interface. In addition, the game includes special 'click points' which animate a large number of the background objects when they are clicked on. For example at the zoo entrance, when clicking on the statues of the 3 zoo animals, they perform a funny "welcome to the zoo" song. You are guided along through the game getting items that will help you rescue the animals. The game features puzzles and mini-games that are both fun and still help young children develop logical thinking and puzzle solving skills.
