Leigh Richmond Miner (1864 - 1935) was a photographer in the United States.[1][2]

He was the director of the Applied Arts at Hampton Institute.[3][4] He photographed Gullah people on St. Helena Island off the coast of Beaufort, South Carolina from about 1900 to 1924 in studio portraits. The photographs include plantation workers, midwives, students and alumni of the Penn Normal Industrial and Agricultural School as well as activities at the Penn health clinic and industrial activities at the school.[5]

He was the official photographer at Hampton Institute and his work appeared in its publications.[6] His photographs were inckuded in several of Paul Laurence Dunbar's publication.[7] He was photographed by Frances Benjamin Johnston.[8]

A collection of his large format photographs of Saint Helena Island, South Carolina was published in 1970.
