Stage box
Appearance
A stage box is a shoebox-sized enclosure that has typically 16-24 female XLR Connectors (or "canons") mounted on it as a termination of the multicore cable that runs to the sound desk or audio mixer. All of the microphones and musical instruments connect to the stage box. There is often a small number of (4-8) male connectors which are called Returns for sending audio signals back to the stage for monitoring.
