Renick William Dunlap

Renick William Dunlap was born in 1872, in Kingston, Ohio. Graduatimg in 1895 from Ohio State University, during his college years, Dunlap excelled at football. He was part of the Alpha-Sigma chapter of Ohio State.[1]

Dunlap served in the Ohio Senate from 1903 to 1905. Dunlap became Ohio's Diary and Food commissioner in 1906. He became Ohio's 13th Secretary Of Agriculture in 1914 resigning in 1916 at Governor Frank B. Willis's request.

Dunlap served in the U.S. Department of Agriculture as an assistant secretary from 1925 to 1932. During his time in the position, he was known for brutally enforcing the Pure Food & Drug Act. When he retired, he became a farmer in Ohio.

Renick William Dunlap died in 1945 at age 72.[2]
