Portal:Historiography[edit]

The purpose of a portal is to aid navigation within a topic. This portal, however, does not serve any such purpose -- its sole content is a very old version of the lede of its main article, a single image, and four "see also" links. The portal was created in 2007, and the only subsequent edits appear to have been routine maintenance (e.g, spelling fixes and categorization). Zetawoof(ζ) 09:20, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete This long-abandoned portal does not come close to meeting our portal guidelines, and has not in the years since its creation. Parts of our portal guidelines that are not met here:
  • "The portal layout should be complete or there should be ongoing efforts to make the portal layout complete."
  • "The portal should be maintained"
  • Required portal content: Topics
  • Recommended portal content: Selected article, things you can do, in other projects, portals footer
  • "The portal subject area should have enough interest and articles to sustain a portal, including enough quality content articles above a Start-class to sustain the featured content section. To aid in this, the portal should be associated with a WikiProject to help ensure a supply of new material for the portal."

The lack of a Wikipedia:WikiProject Historiography makes the salvage and maintenance of this portal extremely unlikely. A Stop at Willoughby (talk) 15:12, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
