The FEG AP9 is a Hungarian self-loading pistol.

History

FÉG designed this pistol in 1951. Its earlier designations are M48, and Walam. It was originally designed for the Egyptian army, but eventually the Egyptian government haven't purchased any AP9s. The pistols were used by the Hungarian police, and it is also possible, that some Hungarian policemen still uses the weapon.

Design

The AP9 is a self-loading pistol equipped with a weight latch system, revolver-type firing mechanism, swinging firing pin, and has a built-in revolving safety feature. It has a steel casing. A compact variant of the AP9 is the APK9, which has a barrel length of 86 mm, and weights 40 g less.
