Astrid Alben is a Dutch poet, editor and translator.[1] She is the author of several poetry collections and her poems have been translated into many languages including Chinese, Maltese, Slovenian and Romanian.[1] Astrid often appears at literary festivals throughout Europe.[1]

Astrid is the co-founder and artistic director of the arts and sciences initiative PARS,[1][2] the Chair of Poetry London[1][3] and Commissioning Editor for Literature in Translation for Prototype Publishing.[1]

Works

Astrid has published three personal poetry collections.[1] She has also curated and edited the book series 'Findings on…' and has curated site-specific events combining theatre, art installation and scientific experiments.[1] Her work is featured in many poetry anthologies.[1]

Awards

Astrid has been awarded a Wellcome Trust Fellowship, Rijksakademie Fellowship, Hosking Houses Fellowship, Arts Council Grant and is a FRSA.[1]

Critical reception

Astrid has been described as ‘a new and original voice in English poetry, serious and uncompromising’ by Rosie V. Bailey.[6][19]
