Szymanów (Polish pronunciation: [ʂɨˈmanuf]) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Teresin, within Sochaczew County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland.[1] It lies approximately 13 kilometres (8 mi) south-east of Sochaczew and 43 km (27 mi) west of Warsaw.
Marian shrine
In 1946, the original marble Pontifical sculpture of Our Lady of Jazłowiec was brought there in 1946, by the Immaculate Conception Sisters.
The religious order fled Soviet occupation of Yazlovets, where the shrine had evolved since 1883 in the original "Mother House" in Ukraine. A replica copy was installed in Yazlovets shrine in 1992. However, the current headquarters of the order has been in Szymanów, Poland since 1933. Both places still maintain religious devotion to this day. [2]
