Speedy deletion contested: Fardad Fateri

Hello Jeepday. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Fardad Fateri, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. Thank you. BangJan1999 17:10, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the notice, be aware I nominated for deletion see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fardad Fateri Jeepday (talk) 17:33, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Jeepday, I'm not convinced that this was a valid CSD deletion (note: I've also declined two other CSD nominations from the same CSD nominator). I don't think G7 is applicable - while the CSD nominator created the redirect by moving the page, they weren't the person who moved the page to that title and even before that previous March move, the redirect had existed for years. WP:G7 says For redirects created as a result of a page move, the mover must also have been the only substantive contributor to the pages before the move The article also says (without a source) that "Wandelaar was refurbished and commissioned as Drazki with pennant number 41" so if that's right than the redirect is reasonable, given hull number nomenclature. Do you have any objections to undeletion here? Hog Farm Talk 15:15, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Yuri "Yura" Dashevsky

You've deleted a page of the official Republican and Conservative Parties Candidate for the US House of Representatives 202.2 https://www.fec.gov/data/candidate/H2NY08187/ https://ballotpedia.org/Yuri_Dashevsky, other sources available. Yuri "Yura" Dashevsky (talk) 16:13, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • An RfC has been closed with the consensus that train stations are not inherently notable.

Technical news

  • The Wikimania 2022 Hackathon will take place virtually from 11 August to 14 August.
  • Administrators will now see links on user pages for "Change block" and "Unblock user" instead of just "Block user" if the user is already blocked. (T308570)

Arbitration

  • The arbitration case request Geschichte has been automatically closed after a 3 month suspension of the case.

Miscellaneous
