I had the rare pleasure of being introduced to Gary Barnacle I met Gary one night at a jam Les was hosting. I was interested to find out what Gary was working on and the many groups he had played with. Gary really didn't divulge his musical portfolio, He never really divulged a great deal about his hidden talents, You would think that most musician baring such high reputation would be blinding me with artist and albums, but this was not the man I had just spoken to.

Gary was some what quite modest with is achievements although he is in fact quite a legend in his own right. I found Gary extremely pleasant to talk to, he did not appear to be anything other than a genuine light hearted musician with a good sense of humour, this is quite refreshing when a few reasonable good musician are up there own ass.

I eventually heard play a really good number on his Tenor Sax with 7 String Les; it was Gorger on my mind, it seemed that he really was a bit tasty on the sax.

I crashed a bluesmothers gig thinking it was a Jam, all one its own. Feeling a little after thinking it was a jam I sat out to hear Gary play, he demonstrated just how talented he really is. The pleasure was all mine when asked to Join in a few numbers, my nerves were jittery and the butterflies did really help maters, thanks to the internet and finding out tonns that he is extreamly talented. Les eased me in gently and gary helped carry me a great deal through the first couple of numbers, easing the nerves to a point that i started to feel the sax sing. The night turned out to be a very rememberable one at that and in the one hell of a music lesson, no money could buy.Gary a wealth of knowledge and years of experiance which he is very forthwith and share, i for one have listened to him intently and today used some of these very techniques when playing, Some of the techniques are incredibly difficult to master which just only goes to show just how good garys control on the saxophone really is. Gary stands out as a true professional in his own right when he plays his horn and along with the many other top saxophonists is really in a league which is second to non. I feel rather privelage to have met Gary and always enjoy his company, his notoriety is not my real of interest, although his contribution to the music industry is huge to say Gary was awsome. He really is a very talented guy with a impressive carrier, truly awesome to watch but out of this world to listern to.

I will always value the Jams that gary attends and continue to use his wisdom to pursue the passion and craving which drives me to be inspired to play my sax. Gary's talent just speak volumes, if you ever get the chance to see him perform trust me when I say you won't be disappointed.
