Mahsa or Mahsā (مهسا, pronounced [mæhˈsɒː]) is a feminine given name of Persian origin meaning "like the moon".[1] Mah (𐎶𐏃) is the Old Persian word for "moon"[2], and -sā (ـسا), as a suffix, means "representing, alike, as".

Notable people with the name include:

  • Mahsa Amini (born 2002), killed by Iranian Morality Police for improperly wearing hijab. Iranian citizen began protesting the theocracy.
