Recommendations for improvement

1. For the ‘Tectonics’ part, it is suggested that tectonic evolution and tectonic history should be included. It is rather a factual and short one. I guess there should have been some remarkable event that happened during such a long period of time from the Paleozoic to the Late Cenozoic.

2. For the ‘Okinawa Trough’ part, it would be great if an evolutionary diagram can be included - illustrating its formation.

3. For the ‘Volcanoes’ part, more descriptions and elaborations should be added, founding from Figure 4 should be written. For example, mainly blue dots are dominated, showing the Ryukyu Arc has been dominated by earthquakes with a Magnitude around 5-6.

4. For Figure 4, would be great if the legend is with discrete boxes with colours instead of gradient colours.

5. For the ‘Geological Units’ part, it would be easier to understand with a stratigraphic column (a figure).

6. Proofreading should also be done since numerous grammar problems are found such as the choice of words - depth should use greater instead of higher.

Hope the above recommendations help! :) Mikocheung (talk) 11:41, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Recommendations from Timothy

1. Some of the sentence structure and words can be simplified (eg. 1st sentence of intro "The Ryukyu Arc is an island arc, an arcuate chain of islands, which extends..." may be simply put as "The Ryukyu Arc is an island arc which extends...")

2. I'd love to see where all the geological units are on a map.

3. This may be a bit difficult (as you have a lot of geological units), but I'd like to see some kind of picture or diagrams for each formation. On top of that might I suggest you to increase the size of all the images.

I like your schematic drawing of the island arc though :) Timothy D. Chow (talk) 07:11, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Recommendations from Mohammad

1. It would be great if you wrote the title and some explanation before the contents.

2. For the tectonic part, you can write and explain a bit about the geological history of this area.

3. Is it possible to show GPS vectors on the map?

4. Adding a figure(s) for geological units can be useful.

5. You can explain the geological units part by a table. I feel a table is more convenient for people to read fast and compare the properties of units very easily.
