Trussonomics refers to the economic measures advocated by the UK Prime Minister Liz Truss in a effort to counter downturn to the UK economy from factors including the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. The word is a portmanteau of "Truss" and "economics". It has been called trickle down economics under another name.[1]
Its introduction was hailed by long-term proponents of the ideology,[2] who immediately blamed the financial markets for its failure in practice.[3][4][5] Other voices have criticised the idea both from the outset[6] and subsequently.[7]
