Maropene Ramokgopa

Maropene Ramokgopa (born 1980) is a South African politician and ANC Women’s League (ANCWL) national coordinator. She is the special adviser to President Cyril Ramaphosa on international relations. She is also a member of the ANC Women’s League.

The politician has been doing politics since the early 2000s. She has held notable positions in the nation and in her party. Former president Thabo Mbeki appointed her as mayor in 2006, which made her the youngest mayor in the Eastern Cape.[1]

On the 19th December 2022 it was announced that the ANC's 55th National conference had elected Maropene Ramokgopa to the position of Second Deputy Secretary-General.[2]
