Zaibatsu/Keiretsu

The article states "The Allies dismantled the zaibatsu in the late 1940s, but the companies formed from the dismantling of the zaibatsu were reintegrated." So were the keiretsu genuinely new people rising to take over the Japanese business sector, or were they just the zaibatsu reinventing themselves and remaining in power under a new system? Advantages/Disadvantages

Deutschland AG

I put in the tag, because its need to be checked and I dont have the nerv to do it. A type of informal business group

I added the adjective "informal" to "business group" because the Wikipedia entry for "business group" defines a business group as "a single economic entity through a common source of control," and as roughly synonymous with "conglomerate." It is my understanding that the businesses that comprise a keiretsu are not as tightly or centrally controlled as a US conglomerate. Hence, I believe describing a keiretsu as "a type of informal business group" is more accurate. --Nick (talk) 04:10, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
