- You'll be missed here and know where to find us if you ever change your mind. At least please stop by on occasion to give Bishzilla a hello. Newyorkbrad 19:59, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
Howdy, I've declined your request to delete Origins and architecture of the Taj Mahal, but if you can tell me why you want it deleted I'll delete it unless its non criteria, I'll have to assume non criteria based on this. Thanks, Navou banter 00:48, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
Blocked
[edit]I have blocked you for a three revert rule violation for your continuous readditon of the speedy tag on Origins and architecture of the Taj Mahal despite many people decling the request. By blanking the page, you are also undoing other users work. Please be more constructive when you return. Ryan Postlethwaite 10:41, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- You are not the sole author of the work, check the history and you will see a couple of other users have contributed to the article. You're starting to act disruptively, so I believe the block is still deserved, but I will allow another admin to review it. Ryan Postlethwaite 10:46, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- I want to debate this at ANI and the talk page - this is the only other edit I'm aware of apart from reverts of my deletion tag - please use some common sense. Why is CSD7 not applicable here? --Joopercoopers 10:49, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- Joopercoopers, you should make it clear that you understand that GFDL cannot be revoked. Other than that, I'm all for unblocking to give the editor a chance to participate in the discussion. --Ghirla-трёп- 10:53, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- I was writing something to that effect at ANI when I was blocked - I was in the middle of a discussion.....<mild grrr> --Joopercoopers 10:54, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- Well that edit and one you reverted, but that means you cannot request deletion of the page as someone else has contributed to it. If you promise not to revert war, I will unblock you, but if you readd the tag again, you'll be blocked again. Ryan Postlethwaite 10:55, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- Some warning beforehand would have been welcome, sorry I lost count. Yes, of course I won't readd the tag - I do want further discussion --Joopercoopers 10:57, 18 September 2007 (UTC)though.
- Ok, you've been unblocked. Ryan Postlethwaite 10:59, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- This decision is welcomed. --Ghirla-трёп- 11:02, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Ryan the autoblock is still on - or whatever it is that means I'm not properly unblocked. --Joopercoopers 11:01, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- You need to e-mail the autoblock number or your IP to him, if I'm not mistaken. --Ghirla-трёп- 11:03, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- Groan - cheers Ghirla. --Joopercoopers 11:04, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

- It's OK, I'll hunt out the auto block. Leave it with me, sorry for the inconvenience. Ryan Postlethwaite 11:05, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Note to Bish
[edit]Sorry, the thing appears to have blown out of all proportion - I was trying to get some kind of explanation, but I've been blocked. Naturally any return to wikipedia now will be a very long way off. Have fun :-) Joopercoopers 10:52, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
Your article
[edit]Hmph. If you really are off to CZ for good, I'll have to undelete the thing. If you're willing to stay around for a week or so and improve it further, I (for one) will not undelete. Your call. Cheers, Moreschi Talk 12:53, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- There's no reason why there shouldn't be two-way traffic between citizendium and wikipedia - assuming they go for GFDL which they probably will. I don't want two articles in two places on the net at different stages of completion - you may have it on my honour I'll give wikipedia this article when it's finished, but that's contingent on some common sense breaking out surrounding the deletion. --Joopercoopers 12:55, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- WTF is going on - why are you blocked - I have been away all day. I see that beautiful page has been deleted though, what choice did Bishonen have there is no one other than you capable of maintaining it, so I suppose that was the obvious answer. You blocked?.......Jimbo himself should be here on bended knee begging you to stay. Insulting little twits. If I was treated like that I would go to citzendum straight away - come to think of it I am treated like that :-( . On well I'll stay like the cheated wife - who said "Oh no, there will be no divorce, I shall stay and everyday you will know I am staying and staying." Good luck - I hope citizendum appreciate their good fortune. I just hope Jimbo looks at that deleted page and weeps for the editors driven off by the lack of logic and appreciation. You blocked! One despairs of them. I agree with you here [1] 100%. Giano 19:49, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- Actually my struggle today has been to get the thing deleted - wikipedia was unusually reluctant. To be honest, its got some big deficiencies - too long, too verbose, planned diagrams still not done, images still to come by, but the main things to address were 1. To what extent Hindu architectural traditions influenced the design - a very politically charged question in this day and age (we know most of the labourers were Hindu and islamic architecture always co-opted local traditions), but the radicals believe the Taj actually was a Shiva Temple, dressed up by Jahan - I wanted a thoughtful researched balance between that and the 'entirely a product of Islam' interpretation. 2. Write up the description of the mausoleum itself and its complex ordering and symbollism. Unfortunately common sense didn't prevail regarding the deletion, so these improvements will have to be done by someone else - my prediction is the Taj pages will abound with references to the Black Taj, PN Oak, Jahan's oppression of Jai Singh and theft of the temple within 12 months - all of which are bollox. So the page will get worse here and better at CZ. So be it. Take care Giano, you've made me laugh more than any other here :-) If your husband keeps raising his hand to you, then you know where I'll be; with the rest of the grown ups. --Joopercoopers 21:41, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- All sounds very complicated, I don't do India and the Orient or I might have a stab at it myself. It is a great pity you have gone but hardly a surprise - who next one asks? I can't go to citizendum because of the real name thing. I'm bound by various contracts, besides which if people would google me, and see my picture I would have even more adoring fan mail from women sending me their fotos and items of apparel, as it is I only have to fight off Bishonen and Puppy - Kelly seems to be resisting the urge to throw herself at me - so far. So long, look in from time to time. :-) Giano 12:45, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Article
[edit]Hi, I have to compliment your cool headiness during our disagreement, and I honestly hope you stay on the project, or return in a short while. You have done an outstanding job, and I want to help address some of the concerns you had with the content in the article, so that it is the best that it can be, I've got some time I can donate. Can we talk? Navou banter 12:27, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Hello
[edit]If you still check your talk page and can read this message, then you might want to go and roll your eyes at this bit of nonsense [2]. Scroll down to the oppose section and enjoy some sardonic laughter. Cheers. --Folantin 08:12, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
[edit]Thanks, Merry Christmas to you too. By the way, have you visited any of Sert's buildings in Barcelona, or Mallorca, in your trips to Spain, and by chance, taken any pictures of them? Regards, dv dv dv d 04:31, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Valuable Award
[edit]You are herewith awarded ten trivia points for detecting an otherwise obscure allusion (to Frank Zappa's description of rock journalism), by Geogre (talk) 22:23, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- I am genuinely humbled. --Joopercoopers (talk) 22:28, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
The provenance issue has been amicably resolved with the bot's author and the image is now restored. Thought you might want to know . Thank you for your support! Pale blue dot (talk) 00:07, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Little ones
[edit]Just to pick a nit or two, Småland in an IKEA-ish context means the play area near the entrance where one drops the little ("små") ones. Kosebamse (talk) 18:04, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- Ah! I see what he means now - thanks Kose, my comments were intended to be tongue-in-cheek you know. I guess the SMA babyfood has a double meaning now. Cheers. --Joopercoopers (talk) 20:29, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
