Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Doctorlynn@hotmail.com", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because your username uses an email address, which may be inappropriate. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. hmssolent\Let's convene My patrols 02:34, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

RESPONSE: I didn't know an email address is not an acceptable user name, and many times on other sites it is required. I'm happy to change it. How about: CommonKnowledgeMed or something similar. CommonMed, CommonMed001, ComMed001, etc.

However I need to know the new name if I sign into my account. My email is listed under my account information. The current username is a very old email account, I rarely use. My main email account at this time is a gmail account already listed with Wikipedia.

Please let me know what you change it to. Thanks, Dennis Lynn, MD

First I'd like to thank you for the gift of your time spent improving this encyclopedia. I did see a need to reiterate the above comment regarding your username. I will ask a friend to contact and assist you. Cheers. My76Strat (talk) 15:46, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Doctorlynn. My76Strat asked me to drop by; it looks like CommonMed is available as a username if you would like it. I can make that change for you, just leave a note on my talk page and I will be happy to assist. Happy editing, 28bytes (talk) 02:50, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The username doesn't violate policy, the policy changed a few years after the account was created because it was no longer possible to create new accounts with names containing "@". Peter James (talk) 09:55, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks MY76Strat,28bytes,Peter James
