Karoline Pershell is an American mathematician who works as the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Strategy and Evaluation for Service Robotics and Technologies (SRT Labs).[1]
Education and Career
Pershell received her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Tennessee Martin and received her Ph. D in mathematics from Rice University in 2010.[2][3] Her dissertation, Some conditions for recognizing a 3-manifold group, was advised by John Hempel.[4][5] Pershell has fulfilled a variety of roles after earning her Ph. D. As a Fulbright Scholar, She taught mathematics at the University of Hyderabad from 2012 to 2013.[6] From 2018 to 2020, She served as the Executive Director for the Association for Women in Mathematics.[7] As one of the founders of SRT Labs, Pershell shares a robotics related software patent with Gregory Scott (also one of SRT Labs' founders)[8].[9][10]

Pershell has received several awards and honors for her achievements.
- In 2012-2013, She was part of the U.S. Fulbright Scholar Program.[6]
- In 2016, She received the Outstanding Young Alumni Award from the University of Tennessee Martin.[11]
- From 2013-2015, Pershell was an American Association for the Advancement of Science Science and Technology Policy Fellowship recipient.[12][13]
