Kellie Ann Jurado
Kellie Ann Jurado is a Presidential Assistant Professor of Microbiology, University of Pennsylvania. She is the Principal Investigator at the Jurado Lab. Her team studies early life immunity using emerging viruses[1]. Jurado has published many research papers on topics such as impact of Zika virus on cells and the HIV-1 virus[2]. She is a first-generation Hispanic/ Latinx Ph.D student [2][3].

Awards

In 2017, she was awarded L'Oreal USA 2017 for Women in Science along with 4 other women scientists. Grants were awarded to them for their groundbreaking research and commitment to closing the gender gap in STEM fields [4]
