Cwmgelli Cemetery, also known as Cwmgelly,[1] is a large cemetery located in the Treboeth area of Swansea.
The cemetery opened in 1896 and covers around 8 acres.[2]
There are 37 identified casualties buried here as listed by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.[3]
The cemetery is one of the registered historic parks and gardens in Swansea.[4]
Notable Burials
- Private David Jenkins (died 1912), G Company 1st Battalion 24th Regiment of Foot, who fought at the battle of Rorke's Drift is buried here.[5][6]
- Edward Rice Daniel (1829-1905), High Sheriff of Glamorgan in 1891.[7][8]
