Robert A. Rowan[1] (November 17, 1935 – August 10, 2021), also known as Bobby Rowan,[2] was an American politician. He served as a Democratic member for the 8th district of the Georgia State Senate.[3]

Life and career

Rowan was born in Enigma, Georgia.[4] He attended Nashville High School, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and the University of Georgia.[3]

Rowan served in the Georgia State Senate from 1963 to 1974, representing the 8th district.[5]

Rowan died in August 2021 in Athens, Georgia,[6] at the age of 85.
